“A man who can’t bear to share his habits is a man who needs to quit them.”

 The Dark Tower

There are many ways in which we can lose our precious energies.  Depending on the habits we have collected along the way, some are building up our strength and character, others are draining us of our essential dignities like a tick.  We gather them all for sound reasons: To keep us safe in a crazy world.  Yet, the convincing trick of many of these strategies, is that they leach vital forces instead filling them up.  Some can even rip holes in our field, allowing unwelcome guests to reside in reserved seats in our minds, in our organs, even around our very Souls.  And so, it is always wise to act on what we are aware of as a problem.  If you ‘can’t bear to share’ find an inspiration or a role model who does.  Qualities of vulnerability, humor, and a relentless will to succeed in the battle of Light and Dark. There are many among us…

A spear thrown through a bulletin reads:

If you feel shame, don’t you dare blame

Identify the nature of your secrecy

then share it around, fearlessly

If you feel weak, comparing yourself incessantly to others

praise them instead and keep them close

If you feel a lack of power, remember:

There is a universe inside of you

with infinite potential for regeneration

And…if you feel lost

run to the top of a mountain

NOW you are found

“The road and the tale have both been long, would you not say so? The trip has been long and the cost has been high… but no great thing was ever attained easily. A long tale, like a tall Tower, must be built a stone at a time.”
